Step 1: Choose a Name

I’m going to assume two things have happened before this step:

  1. You’ve been thinking about this for some time.
  2. You have an idea about what kind of content you’d like to put on your new adult site.

So with that out of the way we can get right down to the first step: choosing a name for your site. You can’t just pick any old name and slap it on your site. Your name has a number of things that it has to do for you perception wise, marketing wise and also has a bit of a technical restriction you need to consider. So what’s in a name? Here’s the jist:

  1. Be memorable: Your name has to be easy to remember. Guys that bookmark porn sites are few and far between. Most of the time if a guy is surfing through porn sites and finds one he likes, he will have to remember it in order to come back next time. So if you want people to be able to find you again your name must be memorable.
  2. Be Descriptive: Your name should describe, in some small way at least, what people are going to find there. Could be the type of content (adult videos, thumbnail galleries, live webcams) OR the category of content (boobs, anal, straight, gay). This will help people identify your site as being a porn site that they want to visit.
    1. A perfect example is YouJizz.com this site states clearly that there will be YouTube style porn video in just it’s name.
  3. Include Search Terms: Including search terms in your domain can help you get rankings, but don’t sacrifice a good name just to get an extra search term in your name.
  4. Be Available as a Domain Name: You can’t have a domain that’s already taken. And you want the title of your site represented in your domain name (ex. istartapornsite.com). If you follow these instructions, I have no doubt you’re going to have a name for your new site that is descriptive, easy to remember and available as a domain name in no time!

A top trick that webmasters use is buying domains at auction. If you pick the right one, it will have a If you still can’t think of a name or need a few suggestions, check out some expired domains at GoDaddy Auctions.

  5. I’ve started a porn tube-site using this guide and I must say it’s still a work in progress. Make sure your name relates to your niche if you have one, but make sure you choose your adult friendly web hosting first if your not familiar with starting a porn tube-site. The only reason I say that is because it makes it a whole lot easier installing wordpress or any other adult tube-site script of your choice

on your server. I’m not a programmer and when I used godaddy and cirtex it was difficult learning how to change nameservers so using the same web hosting company to buy your domain ist the best idea, and don’t choose godaddy for hosting porn content if your going to use a script cause their servers aren’t setup for most adult scripts, I chose arvixe because they have linux servers which support most api’s and adult themed scripts…

    • Hey there, thanks for the comments and AWESOME job on your website. Everybody checkout dakarai’s blackxxxfiend.com!

Setting up the nameservers can be tough to get your head around at first, but it really only involves filling in two fields on your godaddy account. This is explained here.

I suggest godaddy for domains because it’s got the best domain search/registration out there. But I’ve mentioned countless times DO NOT GET GODADDY HOSTING. They don’t accept adult websites. One alternative is to search for a domain name on Godaddy, then once you’ve found it, register it with Cirtexhosting.com a good adult friendly webhost. That will save you from having to set the nameservers later. That method is explained here.
