I’ve Started my Porn Site – NOW I NEED TRAFFIC!!

I’ve posted a few articles about building traffic, but since this is essentially the most important part of an adult or any other type of site, I’m going to try and consolidate some ideas about how you can build traffic here. The way I see it is there are 2 ways to build traffic to a porn site…

  1. The Manual Labour Method
  2. The Contractors Method

The Manual Labour Method for Building Traffic to your Porn Site

I’ve spoken a log about the Manual route in previous articles. I think no matter what your strategy is, this method needs to be implemented. You need to be on top of your website traffic. Know where it is in the rankings know where you want to be in the rankings and implement various manual strategies to get you there. Some of these strategies are as follows:

  1. Link building – you have to get on the link building sites and exchange links regularly.
  2. On Site Optimization – Make adjustments to your site, and add new content regularly.
  3. Monitor Your Results – Watch your analytics AND download Traffic Travis to monitor your rankings.
  4. These all contribute to the final goal of generating more Google traffic to your web site. If you want to really educate yourself on Google traffic building you should think about checking out the Google Traffic Pump System. This is a paid program, so not for everyone, but could have some valuable info on skyrocketing your website traffic. Click here for more info.

So you’ve done all of this and you’ve seen your traffic rise, you’ve seen improvement in your rankings, but you need more! It takes a bit of traffic before you start converting so if you need more traffic fast, it might be time to look at the Contractors Method.

The Contractors Method of Increasing Traffic

This method, as the title suggests will cost you a little bit of money, but also has greater potential to make you money. So the idea here is to spend less than what you make. Then when you make a little more, put some of that money back into one of these methods. Here are some affordable services that will guarantee you way more traffic FAST!

Search Engine Optimization for Porn

I have a feeling that this is going to require more than one post, so maybe a more appropriate title for this would be How to start a Search Engine Optimization campaign for my porn site.

First of all what is search engine optimization?

Search engine optimization can be divided into two types or categories: On-Site SEO and Off-Site SEO

On-site SEO is the process by which you change content and code on your website to get an optimum keyword to content ratio. This means that you have a number of keywords that you’d like to rank under, so you make sure that these appear in your HTML as many times as possible while still remaining relevant to the pages they appear on and readable by humans.

Off-Site SEO is the process by which you work to gain recognition for your site around the web. This includes getting inbound links, submitting to directories and search engines, social marketing and citations around the web. This is basically a popularity contest and quest to get as many relevant mentions and links back to your site as possible. This is where all the hard work is done!

A successful SEO campaign for your adult website will include both of these categories of optimization.

On-Site SEO involves the following steps:

  1. Build a list of key phrases that you want to rank under.
  2. Edit your content and code to reflect these keywords/keyphrases.
  3. Monitor your progress.
  4. Repeat using the knowledge you gained by monitoring your progress.

Off-Site SEO involves these steps:

  1. Submit your site to directories around the web.
  2. Exchange links and build  link partners.
  3. Start social a social marketing campaign.
  4. Submit comments on blogs and advice on forums.
  5. Monitor your progress.
  6. Repeat over and over and over again.

I’ll add in a detailed step by step on each of these over the next few days. If you think I’ve missed anything or if you have any questions, leave me a comment!!

Get Free Adult Affiliate Content to Post on your Porn Site (AEBN Tube Feeder Update)

This is an update to the article:

Step 6b – Get Free Adult Affiliate Content to Post on your Porn Site

It has been brought to my attention that, since this article was published, AEBN has changed their interface for setting up a tube feeder account. This is actually a good thing (I think), since the previous interface was a little cumbersome and, in fact, required a separate login account to access.

Here’s the update:

You can take a look at the original article to get the prerequisites for this taken care of, but the main requirement is that you need a webmaster account with the AEBN (Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network).

How to Set Up Tube Feeder with the Adultere WordPress Porno Tube Plugin

The Tube Feeder will allow us to export data that is compatible with the Adultere import script. And this will give us the ability to have thousands of adult videos and categories live on our site in the next 20 minutes. Let’s get started!

  1. Login to your AEBN account.
  2. Click on Sales Tools
  3. Click on Get Tube Feeder

Now you’re ready to set up a new feed.

Section 1: Choose your destination

This is where the links to “View the Full Video” will go and where you can earn some affiliate dollars if your viewers click through and buy a membership. For now choose an AEBN Feed that suits the type of video you’ll be displaying on your site. Any thing is fine.

Section 2: Choose Your Options

This section determines what kind of videos are going to come up in your feed.

  1. Select your orientation, categories and keywords that relate to the type of video you want on your site.
  2. If you come up with 0 matches, try to choose fewer or less specific keywords and categories.
  3. Delivery Method: choose CSV
  4. Feed Generation: choose Random
  5. Skip XML Export type and color selection

Section 3: Create Feed

  1. Enter a nick name for your feed. (ie My First Porn Feed)
  2. Click Create Feed
  3. The next screen you see should be your feed Dashboard
  4. Here you will see a listing of any feeds you’ve created. If this is your first time, you should see only one item labeled with the nickname you entered on the previous screen.
    1. Note: If you don’t see anything in this list there was a problem with the feed creation. I noticed that not all categories produce results. Go back and pick the same category and keyword and try again. That’s worked for me.
  5. Download your feed by clicking on the nickname / title you created and save this file to your downloads directory.

Formate your CSV File for Import into Adultere/Wordpress

You’ll have to modify this file slightly before you upload it with Adultere. Follow these steps to match it up with the sample adultere csv import format.

  1. Open it in Excel or a compatible editor
  2. You should see one piece of data per column like the shot on the right
  3. Remove the following columns highlighted in the picture to the right
  4. Swap the last two columns so that Categories is the last column
  5. Save the file as a CSV file again

Now you can login to WordPress on your site and upload the CSV. Follow the instructions here:

http://milfhd.com/blog/2011/06/adultere/

If all goes well you should have a thumbnail listing of videos, a whole bunch of categories and video details pages that you can actually watch videos on!

Setting Up Google Analytics to Monitor Your Porn Site Stats

One of the things that should be top priority for you once you get your web site up and running is to implement Google Analytics. This is a free tool that will  track  your visitors and help you analyze traffic to your site. Which comes in handy when doing any type of online advertising or search engine optimization.

In the words of the great Google him or herself:

“Use Google Analytics to learn which online marketing initiatives are cost effective and see how visitors actually interact with your site. Make informed site design improvements, drive targeted traffic, and increase your conversions and profits.”

Besides, stats are not only essential to an online business, they’re fun to watch as they climb week after week. If it wasn’t for stats, how would you know if people are even looking at your porn content?

Step 1: Create an Account

A lot of you already have a Google account, so this step should be easy.

  1. Point your browser at http://www.google.com/analytics/
  2. Click on the Access Analytics button on the right
  3. If you have a google or gmail account already, sign in now
  4. If you don’t have an account, click on the Sign up for a new Google Account link at the top of the screen, then repeat these steps
  5. If you’ve never used Google Analytics before it’s going to ask you to sign up again. Click the signup button and fill in the information as follows
    1. For account name put the name of the website you’ll be tracking (don’t worry you can add up to 25 websites to this account later)
    2. For the url, enter the full path to your website including the www. (copy/paste and test this url in a new browser to make sure there are no typos)
    3. Complete the rest of the form and the agreement

Step 2: Install your Tracking Code

The next page you see will be asking you to install your tracking code. If you’re logging back in to your account, just click on the “Tracking Code” tab to get on the same page as the rest of us.

  1. Under what are you tracking, select “Single Domain”
  2. Unless you’re already doing pay per click, leave the adwords checkbox unchecked
  3. Select all of the code in the “Paste this code on your site” box, right click it and click copy (or press CTRL+C)
  4. Click Save

Now install this code on your porn site!

  1. Open a new browser window and login to admin on your WordPress porn site
  2. Under the appearance tab on the left side click on “editor”
  3. Click Header on the right side of the screen to open the header portion of the template file.
  4. Find the spot in the code that comes up where it says </head> and make a blank line above it.
  5. Right click on this plank line and click paste (or press CTRL+V).
  6. The code you copied from Analytics should appear here. If it doesn’t, go back to Google and copy it again.
  7. Click Update File! Don’t forget to click that!

Step 3: Test Your Installation

Final step! Go back to your Google Analytics account and make sure you didn’t screw it up!

  1. Login to Google Analytics
  2. Click on the Tracking Code tab
  3. If it says Tracking Installed beside the tracking status label you’re good to go.
  4. If it doesn’t, you’ve got to start at step 2 and try again!

That’s it, good luck. If you have trouble leave me a comment, maybe I can offer some advice!

Find Your Niche and Adult Keywords with Traffic Travis

When it comes to researching a niche for my next adult website and finding keywords that I’d like to optimized my websites for there are two tools I use.

  1. Google Keyword Tool
  2. Traffic Travis

Until recently I only used the Google keyword tool. In fact I’ve used only this tool for years and years. But, times change and I’ve recently found that Traffic Travis is simply the most outstanding Keyword and overall SEO campaign monitoring tool there is. AND like Google keywords it’s free. I use the paid version, which is a little  more advanced, but the free one really does everything you need for a single website.

So before we continue, follow the link and download Traffic Travis. I’ll wait here:

Download Traffic Travis now.

OK, now that you have it let’s get started! As you boot up Traffic Travis, you’ll find that there are some incredibly useful tutorial videos in each section, so I’m not going to get into the technical details, just the principles here:

Find Your Niche

Everything you need to find a viable niche for yourself is here. What we’re looking for is a phrase that people are searching for has:

  1. High searches
  2. Low competition

That’s the definition of a niche; an area where there is big demand and not enough people to fill that demand yet.

For instance. My site is about big boobs. I think this is too broad to be a niche…but maybe there’s something in the big boob vertical that is a niche. Let’s check it out.

Find Keywords using Traffic Travis

  1. Open traffic Travis and click on the Keyword Tools. Make sure you’re on the Keyword Finder tab.
  2. Type “big boobs” into the Search Term field.
  3. Leave keywords to fetch at 200 for now. (Lower this to 50 for slower connections)
  4. Click on “Fetch Keywords”
  5. Wait a minute and watch as the list fills up.
  6. There you have it – this is a list of the top 200 searches that are related to big boobs!

Let’s examine the results.

First off, we can see that our term “Big Boobs” gets searched, on average, 369,999 times a day in Google alone. That represents almost 400,000 people that are visiting the sites that have top ranking under this term every day. So there’s a huge potential there, but is it a niche? Probably not. I’m guessing that there will be too much competition here and that any attempt to rank under this term will be futile. So how do we know for sure?

Examine the Competition in Traffic Travis

  1. Click on the SEO Analysis button
  2. Enter Big Boobs into the phrase to analyze.
  3. Click Analyze
  4. A list of the top sites for this term will come up. AND a list of all the top determining SEO factors will come up for each.
BTW: Back when I did SEO analysis, this data was collected by manually searching and clicking on websites and was one of the most time consuming preparation tasks we did.
  5. Take a look in the top right when the data has finished loading under Difficulty Rating.
    1. Extremely Difficult
  6. OK this is where we cut our losses and go find another term. We need this to say something like Easy here!

What do all these columns mean?

These columns are all global pieces of information that search engines use to determine websites are worthy of high rankings in their indexes.

  • Rank: This websites position in Google under the term “Big Boobs”
  • Website: The page that ranks (could be an interior page or the main index of the site)
  • PR: Google Page Rank – This is a ranking system that Google gives all sites in it’s index. You start off at zero and work your way up. 6 is extremly high for this type of site.
  • Age: How long this site’s been around. The longer the better.
  • BL: Back links for page – number of external links coming into this page of this site.
  • BLS: Back links for site – number of external links coming into this entire site.
  • TBL: Back links from EDL and GOV domains: these are very high quality back links
  • DMOZ: Is there a listing in the dmoz.org directory
  • YAHD: Is there a listing in the yahoo.com directory
  • Title: Does this key phrase appear in the title tag of this site?
  • Desc: Does this key phrase appear in the description tag of this site?
  • H1 Tag: Does this key phrase appear in the H1 tag of this site?
  • GCA: Google Cache Age: when was the last time a google robot spidered this site. Just gives you an indication of how popular this site is with Google.

So we’re up against some stiff competition here. Let’s revisit our initial list of key phrases.

I’m just looking through the list here and seeing if there are any terms that seem more obscure but still fit my subject matter AND still get some good daily searches. Found one! Let’s try “kiss big boobs”.

So take this term and plug it back in to the SEO Analysis tool and let’s check it out…

Eureka! This one comes up as “Relatively Easy”. So this could be a good niche for me. For your niches you should go back and forth and check out a lot of different terms before you choose the one that’s right for you of course. But once you’ve chosen them you need to do a few key things:

  1. Find out if there’s a domain name available that holds that term. If your domain name is exactly the same as the term you’re optimizing for, you’re likely going to shoot to the top with little effort.
  2. Update your onsite optimization to suit your new niche.
  3. Get inbound links with that term as the anchor.
  4. Monitor your progress in traffic travis and analytics.
